Oh! Loops is going "Out of this World"

Hey Oh! Loopers,

We hope everyone had a great Christmas, both Sarah and I really enjoyed spending time with our families, although slightly hectic we had some fun filled days. But with Christmas behind us and New Years on its way, we are back and so excited for 2013! We here at Oh! Loops have a tone of fun things planned and we can't wait to get you all involved!!
First for some exciting 2012 Oh! Loops news: We had our first international sale!!!! Two skeins of Oh! Loops yarn made their way to Norway just before Christmas. We're not gunna lie we were pretty stocked by this!!!

We also mailed out the first skeins from our Yarnie AA club subscriptions!! "Blue Jean Baby Queen" has been happily received! If you want to see the teaser photos you can do so here. The second skein from the collection will be making its way to our subscribers January 18th. If you missed out on the first club subscription don't fret, you still have plenty of time to get in on the March/April/May round. Orders are open until February 28th.

Okay now for our "Out of this World" super stellar exciting news!!!!!!!

Oh! Loops is teaming up with podcaster BostonJen from DownCellar Studio Podcast along with thesilverpumpkin and mostlymunchies ofThe Silver Pumpkin shop on Etsy to bring you a fabulous four month long KAL with amazing prizes!!!!!

"One small step for Knitting kind. Challenge yourself to go out of this world with your knitting projects"

How will it work, you ask??????? Member from both Oh! Loops and Down Cellar Studio Podcast groups on Ravelry will knit one project a month for four months. January to April. Here is the list of official rules.

1.) You can post FO's in both groups (Oh! Loops and Down CEllar Studio Podcast) and therefore have two chances to win the big prize packages (the same person cannot win both however) but this is not mandatory, you need only to post in one thread to be entered. Please remember though that if you decide to post FO's in both groups you must first become a member of that group. We are all about supporting each other.

2.) To win the prizes you must complete all 4 projects!!!

 

3.) Each project must be completed in the assigned time frame in order for you to move on to the next month's project. For example, for January's project you cannot cast on until January 1st and you must be finished with your project and have FO pictures with a link to your project page uploaded to the thread by January 31st. The January thread will be locked at midnight PST on the final day. Each new month will follow this same outline.

4.) For the projects you will be asked to challenge yourselves with new techniques, new colors and new patterns (all chosen at your discretion) but you will only be asked to purchase something new for the fourth and final project.
 

5.) Each new project will be outlined the last week of the current month. For example February's project will be announced (on the blog and in the group page/thread) the last week of January so that you can CO and be ready to go by February 1st.

6.) For fun there will also be a separate thread for extra credit. If you choose to participate in the extra credit activities you would post the appropriate information in the extra credit thread. The extra credit thread will only be in the Oh! Loops group page (this does not mean it is only open to current Oh! Loops members, its just easier to manage from one location, so simply join and post away) If you decide to participate in the extra credit you will have a third chance to win another little prize. This prize will be different/separate from the actual KAL prize package.

Threads will be going up in the groups on Ravelry today, including the project outline for January. So pop on over and check it out. Extra Credit and FO threads will be locked until January 1st, but the "Out of this World KAL" chatter thread is set for launch. 

We are super excited about this KAL and can't wait to see all your astonishing projects.

We are also excited about the new collection making its debut on Monday January 7th. We have decided to extend this collection over the entire month like we did with "Narnia" in December. So it will be another two part collection.
