It has been way to long since we last chatted, sorry about that. Sarah and I have had a crazy month and we have so much to tell you.
First can you believe summer vacation is almost here?? I have been counting down the days until my children are done with school for the year, Literally!!! Fellow blogger Jen Hatmaker, shared Sarah and my exact feelings in her latest blog when she said,
"We are limping, limping across the finish line, folks. I tapped out somewhere in April and at this point, it is a miracle my kids are still even going to school. I haven’t checked homework folders in three weeks, because, well, I just can’t. Cannot. Can. Not. I can’t look at the homework in the folder. Is there homework in the folder? I don’t even know. Are other moms still looking in the homework folder? I don’t even care. I feel like any sort of school energy required at this point is pure oppression, like the universe is trying to destroy me"
I freely admit that on Friday of last week I spent a good half hour trying to convince my oldest daughter that she wanted to stay home from school, when really I wanted her to stay home lol!! Yep Summer NEEDS to happen friends.
As promised we have so many things to tell you guys and lots of pictures to show you. I guess the best place to start is at the beginning. Many of you know that a little over a month ago Sarah and I met with the owner of "A Grand Yarn" which is a LYS here in Spokane. Well our first order was delivered a little over a week ago and is now for sale in the shop.
This has been an amazing experience and we are so thrilled to be working with the wonderful owners of this shop and their fabulous team. Order number 2 is currently in the dye pot :)
In addition to those orders Sarah and I have been working on several custom skeins as well as club colourways. Need a sneak peak???????
Oh yes and see this.............yarn grows on trees, and in the garden at my house. Bet you wish you had a yarn crop lol!!!
Aside from the hours of yarn dying that have been consuming our days Sarah and I have managed to get several projects on the needles. Sarah slightly more than me since she freely admits that she has knitters ADD!! Mind you, none of these projects have made it to completion yet, soon, well soonish. Maybe.....
Sarah's OTN's:
Drizzle Hat~ Knit with Three Irish Girls, Conjdon Merino Silk, "Mr. Tumnus" colourway
Serina Cardigan~ Three Irish Girls, Adorn, "Gavin" colourway
Scylla Socks~ Oh! Loops, 2ply High Twist Sock, "Under the Tuscan Sun" colourway
Lydia's OTN's:
Short Sheep Socks~ Oh! Loops, 2ply High Twist Sock, "I Love You more than Pickles, Mac n Cheese and Sweets" colourway
Helvetica Shawl~ Dragonfly Fibers, Dragonsock, "Midnight in the Oasis" colourway
Pimpelliese Shawl~ Patons Lace Sequin, "??????" colourway :/
There are also several things happing in the shop. On Monday we introduced out newest club, the "12 Months of Color Club" It will run similar to the Yarnie AA club and the Socks Anonymous club. The colourways will be exclusive to only club members and you will have the option to choose your base. However unlike the Yarnie AA and Socks Anonymous clubs your subscription will be for a year at a time instead of 3 month blocks, and these skeins will be a total surprise. You won't know what they look like until you unwrap your package.
While on the topic of clubs we wanted to let current club members know that your June skeins will be going out very soon!! I think you are going to love them!!
In regards to our summer collections we have decided to release only one collection a month for June and July as we are gearing up for our HUGE, MASSIVE, GIGANTIC September KAL event!!! Starting in August we will fill you all in on that, so stay tuned. It promises to be a ton of fun and we are, jump out of our skin excited!!!
Well I think that is all for this week. Again I apologize that I haven't chatted very much lately. With the summer months coming I will try to blog every other week. Have a great week Oh! Loopers, I will see you back here soon!
